The year of the harvest of a wine. We've known since antiquity that the characteristics of a year influence the quality of a wine. Today, this is considered crucial in temperate regions. The quality factors (earliness, quantity, sunshine hours, rain levels ...) of a particular year are subtle and complex. It takes a few years for the quality of a wine to come forward.
